Lake Como has a number of car events throughout the year, most notably Concorso d’Eleganza held in May in Cernobbio which attracts a wide range of nationalities and is the base for a number of classic and sports car meets around the lake.
On its 33rd year, the Brianza Motor Show is being held at Lariofiere in Erba at the beginning of March. Just a 20 minute drive from Como, it’s easily reachable. Opening on Friday 1 March in the afternoon and open late into the evening, it’s open all day on Saturday 2 March and for the morning on Sunday 3 March. With entry at €7 a ticket, and a reduced rate of €5 for children between 12 and 16, and under 12s going free, it is a great event to attend.
One of the main pieces is the Ferrari F1 race car – with a show car and simulator at the show! With over 200 stands, there is plenty to see and do.
Events over the long weekend include safety driving lessons sponsored by the Car Clubs of Como and Lecco, Ducati test rides and off-road driving – well known chefs cook and guide you through a gastronomic Italian tour, and entertain children with biscuit decorating. For those a little older, there are music events late into the evening with an Ibiza DJ on the Friday night with body painting, Saturday is an American old style evening with rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm and blues, and Sunday has music all morning at the tuning centre.
You can find full information on the event here. With something for everyone, it’s well worth a visit for all, not just car enthusiasts.
